Welcome to our online version of the Core Essentials® program.

The Core Essentials Online Program is a condensed version of the Core Essentials Chick-fil-A® sponsored program.

We have developed this condensed version of the Core Essentials character education program for schools who are in areas where there are no Chick-fil-A stores, as well as schools who want to be introduced to the program, but did not order during our spring registration.

• Teacher’s Guide: The monthly teacher’s guides provides value applications for the nine-month school year. A teacher is equipped with lesson plans and bulletin board ideas that may be implemented as appropriate for each classroom. The lesson plans are also provided at two academic levels, K-2 and 3-5. Included in the guide are literature suggestions that may be displayed in the library by the media specialist. Administrators at the school may also use the guide to make the value emphasis school-wide through use of the weekly announcement suggestions. The teacher’s guides are available in a pdf format that can easily be emailed to individual teachers and then printed out.
• TakeHome Sheets: The bilingual TakeHome sheet is sent home with each student monthly. It is designed to be posted in a convenient location at home (refrigerator, message board). The families of each child can then use this tool to emphasize the value through family discussion and activities. The TakeHome sheets are available in a pdf format and can be reproduced for students.
• Newsletter Inserts: Created in a reproducible master format, these guides provide information that may be duplicated in the school’s weekly or monthly newsletter. These segments include a general overview of the value and will help parents as they discuss the value with their children. The Newsletter Inserts are available in a Word document format that can be cut/paste into the individual classroom or school communication pieces.
• Coloring Pages: Printable artwork featuring an animal related to each value for students to color.
• Mini-Posters: These colorful pieces reinforce each month’s values and may be placed strategically throughout the school (classrooms, cafeteria, library, offices, etc.). The posters are available in a pdf format.

At Core Essentials, we believe it takes an inward attitude to influence outward behavior. That’s what we mean by values. A value is an inward belief or attitude that affects someone’s outward behavior. These values are common attitudes that every parent and teacher want children to learn and demonstrate. Values affect behavior by helping you treat others right, make smart decisions and maximize your potential.

We also believe the values should be reinforced by “catching kids” who demonstrate the values. The online version of the program encourages schools to develop their own system for recognizing kids who exhibit character. Whether it’s through a special display in your school or some type of reward from your school’s educational partners, values that are recognized when they are demonstrated are also reinforced.
