Core Essential Values Store

Our Story

It’s simple. It matters.

It’s simple. We all teach character, whether we like it or not. From the words we say and don’t say to our body language and everything in between, we teach character.

It may not be written in the lesson plan or mandated by the school board, but our interactions show kids what we believe to be true about ourselves and others.

And it matters.

Just as babies and toddlers learn from mimicking the behaviors they see around them, so do grade school and adolescent children. * These behaviors go on to affect school measures such as attendance, bullying, grades, and standardized test scores. *

Our strategy is simple. We align the most important leaders in a kids’ educational life with the same goals, give them a clear action steps, and resource them with excellent tools.

Our strategy matters. Doing SEL or character education as an add-on to the day-to-day experiences of an educator or student leads to frustration, confusion, and exhaustion. Following a strategy for incorporating emotional intelligence into all aspects of the school day and home life gets results.

Since 1998, we’ve been providing character education and social-emotional learning resources to school across the country (and around the world!). The heart of our programming is the Core Elementary curriculum, and since 1998 we’ve added curriculum and resources to Pre-K programs, middle and high schools, communities and districts as a whole.

Run by two full-time employees based in Georgia and Indiana, and a dozen or so writers from across the US, we are flexible and focused on each school and district we work with. In addition, we work with Chick-fil-A stores who also support schools. Our partnership began with the shared belief that values were crucial to creating a culture for learning in schools.
